At our resort centres, The Ayurvedic Healing Village and at our various other treatment centres, 90% of our staff are local. We always aim to hire locally if possible, and enable this by contributing to a local skills training programme.
KAPPL recognises the impact that its businesses have on the environment and, as a minimum standard, comply with current applicable legislation in the countries in which it operates. Our strong concern for the environment informs every area of our business. We are firm believers in sustainable practices and use these to sustain our organic herb farm in Kerala.
KAPPL is committed to continuous improvement in the environmental replenishment, the prevention of pollution and to improving efficiency in the use of resources including energy, water, packaging and other raw materials.
KAPPL uses state-of-the-art power generators to cut our carbon footprint by over 40%. Our environmental action also takes the form of education, to decrease the use of polythene and raise awareness among staff, associates and customers. KAPPL uses a 1.25MW windmill as a source of alternative energy to run our establishment.
KAPPL is committed to being a responsible corporate citizen through the support for appropriate various community projects across a range of organisations and charities. We firmly believe that we should maintain our ties with the local community and be sure to give much more than we take from them. Kairali Ayurvedic Group in Kerala provides agricultural land to poor local farmers in economic difficulty. We also purchase or facilitate the sale of any surplus grain on MSP (minimum support price)
Regardless of regional boundaries KAPPL aims to support the creation of prosperous, educated, sustainable and healthy communities. With a focus on education and enterprise, health and welfare, and the environment, it has developed target programmes for local communities, often involving guest and employee engagement. KAPPL also supports various local charities both with financial and non-financial donations whether they are educational, agricultural or health related.
